Fishing Vessel – Hull

“How can we protect the hull of our fishing vessel from fouling so that we can save fuel and maintain speed?”

The problem
Fishing vessel BRA 7 frequently operates in coastal waters, where marine fouling quickly builds up on the hull. This fouling increases hydrodynamic drag, leading to higher fuel consumption, lower speed, and a decrease in overall efficiency. Regular cleaning and recoating are costly, time-consuming, and often result in downtime.

The solution
The ultrasonic antifouling system has been installed on the fishing vessel BRA 7 to protect the hull from marine fouling. The system prevents fouling within the range of the transducers, keeping the hull smooth and reducing drag. The difference is clearly visible: the image shows a clean section of the hull within the transducer’s range (left) contrasted with fouling on a section outside that range (right)—a striking demonstration of the system’s effectiveness.
