“How do we keep our box coolers free of fouling so that heat transfer and cooling performance are maintained?”

The problem
On board the Geoquip Speer, marine fouling on the box coolers reduced heat transfer and overall cooling capacity. As marine fouling accumulates on the cooling surfaces, the performance of the seawater cooling system declines. This can compromise the reliability and efficiency of critical onboard equipment.
The solution
The ultrasonic antifouling system was installed to prevent marine growth from adhering to the box coolers. Because the system continuously prevents the buildup of marine growth, heat transfer remains optimal, cooling performance remains consistent, and the need for maintenance and cleaning is reduced.
